ASGK Association of Surgical Gastroenterologist of Kerala
ASGK or Association of Surgical Gastroenterologist is an organization which was formed in 2007. This Organization has members across Kerala consisting of Surgical Gastroenterologist and General surgeons with keen interest in Gastrointestinal surgery. The main aim of this association is to share the knowledge of surgical expertise, showcase the surgical skills and to upgrade the research in Surgical Gastroenterology. Upholding this aim, we are organizing Annual conferences with theme being multidisciplinary structure and Evidence based approach in gastrointestinal diseases. The conferences cover the novel headway in the world of surgical Gastroenterology and Transplantation. The conferences are organized with close participation of other branches to upgrade the latest development in the field of Endoscopy and Interventional Radiology. Our goal is to bring experts at National and International level which gives us the unique professional interactions.
Our Aim
- To promote close coordination and sharing of knowledge and skills among Surgical Gastroenterologists in the State.
- To provide a forum for presentation of clinical material and promote critical peer review.
- To further clinical and basic research in the field of Surgical Gastroenterology including multi-center clinical trials.
Our Activities
- Annual conferences where experts and trainees interact to refine approaches to many GI problems.
- Highlight recent advances in the field of Surgical Gastroenterology notably, hepatobiliary disease and liver transplantation, pancreatic disease, colorectal and foregut disease
- Focus on newer techiques in `surgical `gastroenterology including laparoscopic surgery, robotic surgery and newer innovations in the various areas of Surgical Gastroenterology.
